The last few weeks have been significant for us. In addition to making great strides forward on the international front, we have been given a resounding vote of support by shareholders, new and old. The £15 million round of funding which we’ve just closed was substantially oversubscribed.

Undoubtedly the most important development is the unveiling of PhormDiscover. For over a year, Phorm has been in the rather unusual position of being evaluated more on our revenue model than our consumer proposition. It’s similar to talking about Google showing you advertising, while leaving out the search part. But no more.

The fact is our technology will allow ISPs to partner with websites to create a unique consumer experience; and PhormDiscover is a perfect example of this. The result of several years’ development, we have launched a technology that, rather than simply being a better website, has the ability to make all websites better.

PhormDiscover is the ultimate recommendation engine. All you’ll need to do to get personalised content automatically is to browse the internet - no boxes to check, no forms to fill in. Just show up at any participating site and it will show you stuff that is right for you. It’s the simple way to get a more interesting and useful browsing experience.

Mark Twain famously urged people to: “Explore. Dream. Discover.” So taking a leaf out of his book we unveiled PhormDiscover to the press and publishers in London on 3 June, as we trial it live in Korea, one of the most advanced internet societies in the world.

PhormDiscover is the ultimate recommendation engine. The revolutionary widget will automatically show consumers personalised content from across the web based on their interests. There’s no need to tell it what they like or if their tastes change - PhormDiscover learns as people browse. Take a look at our short online demo to get a flavour of how this exciting product works.

So when a consumer’s ISP adopts the PhormDiscover proposition, they will be offered personalised content and advertising as well as a built in anti-phishing capability, all for free.

Consumer Acceptance

Little wonder that more than eight out of 10 (82%) of consumers who expressed an opinion said they liked PhormDiscover, according to a recent survey of 2.000 UK broadband users.

Reflecting that overwhelming acceptance, albeit in a less than scientific way, we demonstrated PhormDiscover to consumers on the streets of London. The response was universally positive, with comments including:

"That’s really cool"
"It personalises the internet to you"
"It would be helpful, makes it faster, you don’t have to search for stuff"
"Makes everything easier"

Always a hotbed of technical innovation, this year’s E3 consumer electronics show threw up some very interesting hardware developments - the industry’s creative responses to the Nintendo Wii’s interface innovations. The three console giants all released new physical controllers at the exhibition with varying degrees of impact.
